Bee Walk in Lordship Rec

Which type of bee?

Bees and other pollinators are vital for our food supplies, and an essential part of nature. They are declining and need our help.

We are holding a local Bee Walk on Saturday 10 June from 11am for about 1½ hours, meeting at The Hub in Lordship Recreation Ground.

This is open to anyone, but it would be helpful if you could let me know in advance so we have some idea of numbers: quentin.given@btinternet.com.

We will look for different bee species amongst the wildflowers and trees. Afterwards we will be having a picnic which you are also welcome to join.

The Great British Bee Count is now on – until 30 June. You can download the app for smartphones or tablets at www.foe.co.uk/bee-count. This enables you to spot common bee species, take photos and upload the info to a national map and database.
