Management Plans for Parks
What are Management Plans?
They spell out how the parks department intends to manage, ie, maintain and improve a park.
They also contain a lot of detailed descriptions of parks. They can be somewhat formidable documents and are not always easy to read, but they are informative and allow us to monitor how improvement plans are implemented.
So far management plans have mostly been drafted for parks where the Council is hoping to reach the standard required for a green flag.
It might be a good idea to draw up simple maintenance and improvement plans for all open spaces in the borough, sot that transparency and accountability are ensured everywhere.
